The Bronzing Boutique – Double Bay

Despite the fact that where I’m heading tomorrow the weather looks like this:

…I decided to get a spray tan for my trip. Firstly, for those concerned with disclosure: No, this was not a freebie because of my blog. I simply like to reward good service with a shout-out in the hope that word-of-mouth will bring in more custom for them.

Now, I had never tried The Bronzing Boutique before. I, like every good Eastern Suburbs girl, had heard of it and with celebrity fans like Delta, Charlotte Dawson, Terry Biviano and Erika Heynatz I had no doubt it would be a great experience.

The Bronzing Boutique is tucked away on Knox Lane, parallel to Knox Street, Double Bay. The space is small but well-designed with a separate drying room to the booth. I love this idea as it means your clothes are nowhere near the spraying and it also means business can move along quickly.

The efficiency of the service is worth noting. It’s not quick in a way that makes you feel like  you’re just another customer but quick in the way that if you’re in a hurry you’ll be grateful for the expertise and professionalism.

Something I didn’t know, and that isn’t offered by a lot of salons, is that The Bronzing Boutique offers a range of tans. They have long-lasting ones or rapid tans which you can wash off after two hours. Other services offered are a fragrance shot, moisture shot (for an even longer tan) and Bronze Goddess Luminous Shimmer – for the ultimate glow. They also service teenagers or will spray just half a body or the face for a reduced price.

If you loved the glowing look of the models at the Bowie show at this year’s Fashion Week, it’s because they were sprayed with Asayana tan – available at The Bronzing Boutique.

Although I haven’t tried these (being my first time there) The Bronzing Boutique also specialises in waxing, eyelash extensions and Vajazzling! (Has anyone ever had this done?!?! I’m so curious about it).

I was so pleased to walk out of the salon with  dry skin, an even colour and absolutely no odour which is a blessing in the world of spray tans. I will be back for sure and I hope next time you’re looking for the perfect spray tan you’ll consider The Bronzing Boutique.

Full body tans start from $49.

Judith Leiber Love

Remember in Sex and The City when Big bought Carrie that Judith Leiber bag and she thought it was gross? Well I thought she was really out of line. Firstly, if someone spends a few thousand dollars on a cute bag you should just be grateful and secondly, she’s prone to wearing tacky stuff so I don’t really know why she thought a diamanted swan was any worse than, say, this:

Anyway, I love me some sparkle so I’m a sucker for Judith Leiber bags. I don’t own any because they’re super exxy and not exactly practical for my lifestyle but if I had $5,195 to spend on a bag right this second, you know I’d be buying this:

The ‘French Poodle Minaudière‘ is just one of the many Leiber designs at Neiman Marcus’ online store and it reminds me of my own baby, Georgina.

There seems to be a bit of a dog theme in her current collection, and considering pet accessories are a multi-billion dollar industry in the States, people who are that obsessed with dressing their dogs must be the market for dressing themselves in dog designs, right?

I’m actually quite partial to this, too:

Quite ergonomic, don’t you think?

If dogs aren’t your thing, how about this extremely detailed extravaganza? Only $6000+

Man, you really wouldn’t need anything else to accessorise that outfit!

Soooo do you love or hate Judith Leiber bags? Does anyone actually own one?

Giveaway – Virgin Mobile’s Covers For A Cause

It seems like absolutely everyone has a smartphone these days. Whether it’s an iPhone, Galaxy or Arc you can’t sit at a bus stop or walk down the street without seeing someone glued to theirs. So when I heard that Virgin Mobile were playing on the influence smart phones have on our lives to raise awareness of and support the reduction of youth homelessness I knew I had to let you all know about it.

Right now there are 32,000 between 12 and 25 years of age who do not have a place to call home“, says Virgin Mobile’s marketing director, David Scribner. These stats are shocking; I’m in that age bracket and I’m sure a lot of my readers are. I can’t imagine not having a place to come home to at this age let alone at the tiny age of 12 – it’s unfathomable.

Thankfully, with the help of Sir Richard Branson, Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia and one of my have Aussie labels, Ksubi you can spruce up your smart phone with specially designed cover with the proceeds supporting Oasis, The Salvation Army’s response to youth homelessness.

Oasis offers support, refuge and care for those affected by youth homelessness helping them to turn their lives around. One of the recipients of this support, Dean Good has also joined Sir Richard Branson, Natalie and Ksubi in designing a cover for this collection.

A huge 100% of the proceeds of the sale of these covers goes towards Oasis which are $35 each and can be purchased from Virgin Mobile stores nationally or the Virgin Mobile Facebook page.

I have one of each design to give away (in your choice of iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 2 or  Sony Ericsson Arc). To enter, simply comment below with your favourite design.

Entries close on Tuesday, June 12 at midday

Good luck and be sure to look at  http://www.virginmobile.com.au/covers-for-a-cause/ for more information on this cause!
